ASSESSMENT TASKS
Learning Outcome 1
Understand the key elements of development across the human lifespan
1.1 Identify the life stages of human development
Provide information to identify the life stages of human development.
Show evidence of reading or use of sources.
There should be evidence of additional reading or use of sources, and must include a minimum of 2 traceable references to support the discussion.
1.2 Describe social, emotional, cognitive, and physical developments within each life stage.
Refer to the life stages identified for 1.1 to describe developments that may take place during each stage, in relation to:
Social development
Emotional development
Cognitive development
Physical development
Show evidence of reading or use of sources with referencing relevant to the explanations.
Use a minimum of 4 references (one per development area) to show evidence of reading or use of sources.
Learning Outcome 2
Understand theories of human growth and development
2.1 Describe theories of human growth and development.
Information must focus on human growth and development to describe more than one relevant theory which may include:
Cognitive theory
Psychosocial theory
Humanist theory
Social learning theory
Show evidence of reading or use of sources, and referencing to support discussion.
Use of reading or use of sources should be shown through a range of relevant references (minimum 4 references – one per theory). Referencing should be used appropriately to support discussion.
Learning Outcome 3
Understand significant life events within each stage of human development.
3.1 Explain significant life events that can occur within each stage of human development.
Refer to the life stages identified for 1.1 to provide a detailed explanation of more than one significant life event that may take place at each stage.
Show evidence of wider background reading or use of sources, and referencing to support discussion and analysis.
Wider background reading should be evident or a wide range of sources material should be used. Referencing to support analysis. A minimum of 1 reference per life stage is required.
3.2 Analyse the impact that significant life events have on individuals.
[Individual(s): person(s) accessing services.]
Provide detailed information to analyze the impact that significant life events may have on individuals. Information must be given through relevant use of theories and models.
Show evidence of a range of background reading or use of sources used selectively.
Explore relevant issues which contribute to the evaluation. An extensive range of appropriate reading or use of sources should be selected and referenced appropriately. A minimum of 5 new references (not previously used) is required.
